Friday.
Black Friday!! But we didn't go shopping. In fact, I'm not even sure if we left the apartment. We might've.... but probably just to get gas or something mundane like that.
Instead, we made some kick-ass food!!
Peanut sauce, and two AMAZING sandwiches:
Close up of one of the sandwiches:
So, that's some thick french bread (too thick actually), grilled chicken breast smothered in peanut sauce (awesome peanut sauce, actually), a salad of jalapenos, red onions, and cucumber (with a somewhat sweet sauce), and cilantro on top. AWESOME. The too-thick bread just meant that we kept eating the extra salad and piling on extra sauce the whole time.
Seriously, I never thought I'd be able to make something like this, but it was really easy! Karin found the recipe online, I'll update this later with a link. Mostly you just need red curry paste and peanut butter, the rest is normal stuff like salt and sugar. And a tip, for some reason cucumber is totally amazing with peanut sauce. This was one of the best things I've ever made I think.
Monday
Thanksgiving!

Thursday.
Ok, so honestly, these are pretty lame for Thanksgiving pics. Where's the Turkey?? Only 4 people?? NONE of the dinner?? Yeah, what can I say, I'm bad at taking pictures, tough luck. Anyway, here's what I've got.
The dessert Karin and I brought. Vanilla-y melted chocolate with dipping things.
Those marshmallows are flavored, by the way. Strawberry for the big ones and chocolate for the small ones. No rational person likes marshmallows, but there were supposed to be kids there.
My Grandma and my Aunt:
Really looks like we had a good time, I know... but hey, our dessert is obviously being eaten!!
My dad and my cousin Bobby:
You'd never know it, but Bobby has some serious heart problems. It's kept him in school for like 6 years or something, since he has to keep leaving for long period of time to have surgery and stuff. But every time you see him, for sure he'll be smiling and laughing about something.

Saturday.
Went to Karin's Grandpa's 100th birthday party! Amazing.. 100 is REALLY old. I mean, he was ALIVE during Downton Abbey. Or if you don't watch that show, he was alive before World War I.
They had a photo booth set up, to act as a sort of guest book, so Karin and I got this photo sheet.
Karin lookin pretty good!

Saw this on our drive home--it's the front of the Walker Art Center; I went out to take pictures of it after we voted.

Lost Camera Lost Time
Hey everyone,
Sooo I have kind of lost my camera for the moment. Oops. I figure in the meantime, maybe you'd all enjoy some of my drawings instead?
These are drawn on the screen of a Nintendo DS. The game Brain Age will sometimes ask you to draw something "based on memory" and then compare your invariably ridiculous drawing to their own amazing photo-real version.
Please keep in mind that you cannot erase or undo when doing these drawings...

Everyday
For no reason, a few shots of my keys.
The three little cards I have: grocery store, pet store, gym.
My keys. I am quite happy with the starry night key.
This is for a Minneapolis thing called Nice Ride. Basically there are little stations with bikes in them all around the city, so you take one, ride where you need to go, and drop it off at another station. Really nice to have actually, since biking is so much faster than walking, but you still don't have to worry about parking! Plus the bikes are kept in good condition, and you don't have to worry about locking them up, or even about taking a bike back home at all if you don't want to.
Car keys.
The thingy on the top is some ink trapped in some sort of liquid. Got it from a printing company somehow?? Maybe through my brother.

Wednesday.
Had some leftover bulgogi and a bunch of veggies, so tried making some jungol, which basically means throwing all that together into a pot, I guess? Someday I'll know better maybe. This stuff wasn't bad though, but it tasted way better 2 days later.

Also on Sunday, I took a walk past Loring Park near our apartment, and there was this random pillow on the ground.

Sunday.
Went to an AK Connection-sponsored Chuseok celebration today, basically just ate some food and watched a movie, plus there was a teerrrible short little informational video about Chuseok. For some reason it had two white people with European accents doing the whole thing, and the only Korean people in it seemed to be dressed in hanbok(s?) doing traditional stuff. Karin and I had an interesting talk about why they felt it was so necessary to have white people presenting the video, when they didn't even speak very good English...
But anyway, it was hosted at a church and they were selling kimchi in giant glass jars. We didn't really need the kimchi, but we wanted to support the church, and the jar looked pretty useful, so we bought some.

Friday.
So I honestly don't remember when the exact day is (although I guess I should know things like that..), we celebrated my brother-in-law Nick's birthday today! Or I should say like, three Fridays ago.
We went out for happy hour and gave him his gifts: 1) The DVD's of Kimchi Chronicles (A PBS show on Korean food/culture), 2) the Kimchi Chronicles cookbook, 3) a bottle of soju, and 4) a squeeze bottle of gochujang, like the kind they have in restaurants for putting on bibimbap.

Tuesday.
I posted a little while ago about all the coffee shops that are in our neighborhood, so we decided to go take a walk again and try one out! Turns out the place we were at was kind of a biker bar, but for coffee, which was pretty interesting, and really kind of loud. But it was still fun.
Should've taken a picture of the actual place too, oops!

Everyday
Took this in the morning while making breakfast and lunch. It's not always sandwiches, but we seem to make soup a lot and it makes lunch pretty easy. This is on our kitchen table.

Monday.
So... I have a very large backlog here. I'm about one week shy of being an entire month behind. But, now I've uploaded all the pictures from the last few weeks and am ready to start posting! I may have forgotten sometimes why exactly a certain picture was from a certain day, or whatever, but hey, who really cares anyway haha.
So I'm not sure why I took this photo on Monday exactly, but i won the t-shirt (yay!) at a company picnic (pretty lame) at some point earlier, which is why it's so huge and also says Johnsonville on it. I laid it out on the floor, I guess to take this picture, and I looked away for I swear less than 5 seconds, and when I looked back our cat Quimby was on it. Of course.

Saturday
So Saturday was a big day... I won the lottery! Here's my check from the Minnesota State Lottery!
No actually it's a check for... $2.00. I should have taken a picture of it, such crap. Karin got a lottery ticket for christmas or something and the first thing she scratched off said $14, so we mailed it in. We have no idea how to do lottery stuff... but then we got a check back for $2.00! What the heck?? We have no idea. The letter helpfully included information on how lottery money is taxed, too, excellent.
Also on Saturday... I made bibimbap for the 2nd time! I think it doesn't look quite as good as the first time.. but I didn't get a good picture of that one. Also there's no beef in this one. But still!
Maybe that's too many cat pictures haha, but I thought it was significant, first time and we've had them for like 7 months or something now. Anyway I will probably keep taking lots of pictures of the cats anyway, they're super cute!

Lastly, Saturday was the first time that Quimby had ever fallen asleep on my lap...

This is what we woke up to this morning, hahaha.
We left out some tissue paper for the cats the other day, and Quentin decided it ALL needed to die. Or something.

While we were up at the cabin, my niece Megan used this awesome leopard print notebook to write stuff down, like the bracket for the bag toss tournament.

Went up to a cabin with family for the weekend! My brother Erik and his wife Gina modeled our animal hat/scarves for us.
